Release ISO Optical Drive

Is it possible that you change gksudo into gksu please ?

For a reason i can't explain (because gksudo is a link to gksu), your .pnd doesn't work under Slackware.

Debugging manually, i found that using gksudo was the cause of it.

ok

Something that can be useful to try are also alternative boot managers, like http://www.plop.at/e...ootmanager.html for example... I have read somewhere that can be used also on usb devices, but I did't had the time to try... maybe an alternative way to resolve the cdrom boot issue is to boot from ANOTHER usb device that has one of those boot managers, and then choose the Pandora from them...

@LinuxSWAT: I'm sorry but using gksu doesn't work... cause it ask for the root password using the root user itself, but by default there is no root password on the Pandora...

Does "SD-Mass Storage" works on Slackware ?

EDIT: SD-Mass Storage uses sudo... but I don't know how can it work without asking for a password...

EDIT2: if I try to use sudo I just have "no tty present and no askpass program specified"... I need to find info...

EDIT3: op_storage is set to NOPASSWD in sudoers... that's why it does not give errors and doesn't ask for a password... but I can't modify sudoers for the PND... for now the only way I have to ask for a password is gksudo...

EDIT4: trying to launch gksu in sudo mode... but seems not starting...

EDIT5: now seems working, I'm putting it in the repo

cool is shows up is I do it manualy with

Code:
sudo modprobe g_file_storage file=/path/to/filename.iso stall=0 cdrom=1

Thoughts?

So, if you use that manual command, the iso autostart at the boot, but if you use the PND it doesn't ?!

I understood correctly ? I'll have to try, but I'm pretty sure it was the first thing I have tried before making the script... anyway different BIOSes may work differently

I linked to that conversation some posts ago, but it's too tecky for me right now... maybe one day it will become useful...

@Dev45: just tried using the manual command line, but as a boot device it doesn't work for me... then when Windows start, it doesn't even see the device, I need to unplug and plug to make it see a cdrom

Hi Sorry PowerGod.

No, I could not get the pnd script to showup as a cd drive in my Arch linux box well as runing the manual comand worked just fine.

Eather why I can not see it at boot.

side note by mistake I found you can mount a iso as a harddrive if you leave the cdrom=0

In fact, i just realized it would be cool to have a gadget menu with all functionality in it (cdc, iso, mass storage).

I have that idea too... but bigger ;)

And now that there is a compo maybe... but I don't know... too much to do and so little time...

I just uncovered the existance of Gtkdialog :D And is a very useful thing to make interfaces more complex than what you can do with zenity
