Best Android games/apps for Pandora

Very nice video Ingo ;)

I'm interested in TV Out cable...where (if possible) i could order one ?

i'd like to see n64oid and/or mupen64plus AE on the latest android build
Here is one short video that shows Mupen64plus - Android Edition. Game is Mario64 of course. Rice video-plugin and Risio's Retro Mario64 beta hires-texturepack.

You can see the the graphic glitches that unfortunately occured on Rice-Plugin on PowerVR GPUs like the Pandora ones. :(

GLES2N64-Plugin works too, but the best and most game compatible one is Rice.

Pandora runns @ 800 MHz for the test. Buttonmapping works, but no analog nubbs support. For the video, I've used a USB-mouse and a wireless keyboard with touchpad. Gamepads seems not to be supported on Gingerbread.

Tested Mupen64+ version isn't the last official beta, but the last test version posted from Paul in this thread on post #514.

Yongzh's emulator works too, but don't expect a video from me. And please, if someone want to test a N64 Emulator, don't use the copycat versions from Google Play. There are only 2 N64 emulators for Android, both based on Mupen64plus and are available as paid (N64oid) and donation (Mupen64plus-AE) version on Slideme.

Android for Pandora is awesome. Thanks for this Notaz!

So far i've been using this apps:

Angry Birds (Perfect)

Brothers in Arms 2 Free+ (Perfect but you have to buy things like medikits)

Dead Space (Perfect, stuck though because i can't tilt).

Evac HD (Perfect, uses physical controls).

G-bikes (Slow and ugly, uses Physical controls).

Ground Effect Pro HD (Perfect).

GT Racing: Motor Academy Free+ (Perfect, had to use Ultimate Rotation because screen was flipped at race start, can be handled with touch controls).

Mass Effect: Infiltrator (Perfect, overclockable).

NFS Shift (Perfect, impossible to handle because i can't tilt)

NFS Hot Pursuit (Perfect, impossible to handle because i can't tilt)

N.O.V.A. 3 (Perfect, hard at times because of single touch screen).

Netflix (Perfect).

Opera Mobile (Perfect).

QuickOffice Pro (Perfect).

Radiant HD (Perfect, uses physical controls).

Raging Thunder 2 HD (Perfect, uses physical controls).

Reckless Racing 2 (Perfect, kind of slow yet very playable, uses physical controls).

Riptide GP (Perfect, overclockable, uses physical controls).

Shadowgun (Perfect, uses physical controls, not so overclockable).

Shine Runner (Perfect, uses physical controls).

Tetris Free (Perfect).

Warp Dash (Perfect, good speed with graphics in medium, uses physical controls).

Wave Blazer (Perfect, uses physical controls).

Where´s my water? (Perfect, hard at times because of single touch screen).

Performance is pretty good at 600 Mhz in a Rebirth Pandora (there are exceptions of course). I tried them at 1 Ghz too and most of the apps showed marginal speedups. So for Pandora 2 to be Android Friendly should at least have an accelerometer and a multitouch screen (and of course, the beefier the better).

In this Andoid Version where so many Performancekillers i switches off and so many Tweaks i used, that i dont renember all

Example :Who needs Animations when they slow your Device, who need Bluetooth when you never use it and and and.

I am a minimalist,i need a fast System that works good but i dont need Animations or some Features.

I would love to see a list of this tweaks you have made. I have tried to turn all of the eye candy off as well and performance is very nice.

Oh, yes input devices are supported, but no gamepads and bt wireless.

Just enable USB-Host in Angstrom, before you start Android. I use a passive USB- HUB on top. Mousepointer is active, if you move the mouse.

Keyboard is a cheap china hardware, labeled as General Keys with an USB RF-dongle.

Gamepad input, like devices >Android 3.1 can do aren't supportet. At least my Sixaxis on USB, that worked on my other Androids didn't work. Have no other.

Hm, that N64 emulation runs pretty decent.

Porting the Rice Plugin to the Pandora MUPEN might improve it quite a bit.

Though... plugins should be compatible, shouldn't they? Maybe the rice plugin binary would work out of the box on the Pandora?

That's one of the things Stradian is looking at. See this topic for info.

The Android version uses a different core. Pandora or N64oid Plugins don't work on Mupen64+ AE.

If you use regulare textures, Mario runs like on Pandora version.

Conker runns, but slow. Performance on hires textures differs, how big they are.

Speaking of point and click the latest version(s) of ScummVM can now be run on the pandora via android including the beta ones that support Myst/Riven. Might make a nice video.

Edit: also just noticed that the latest "untested" ScummVM builds also support the pandora so any reason the repo version isn't updated? http://buildbot.scummvm.org/snapshots/master/openpandora-master-latest.tar.bz2

Thats mainly because DJWillis, the maintainer doesn't seem to have time right now.

If anyone else wants to build it, please do so :)

Just downloaded Football Manager '12 for it (it's currently on sale for £2.99). Seems to work like a dream. Menus are fast, the engine runs well and no glitches, although only had time enough to test that it runs ok for a quick go.

Android games look so much better on my Pandora than my HTC Desire. Wonderful stuff. The Kairosoft games look amazing especially and work really well.

Thanks for the heads up on Kairosoft Writin Ronin. I'd not heard of them. I downloaded the free version of Dungeon Villiage and played through it a couple of times before buying the full version. It's a fun little game and runs great on the Pandora at 700MHz (my default) It'll probably run fine at 600 too. I might check out their Race team game.

Cheers
