Hi if my pandora wont turn on at all with no leds flashing or lighting up, I presume its more likely not to be the battery?

Sometimes the battery can be discharged below a safe level. Plugging it in to charge and waiting for several minutes (the exact length differs, but typically up to about half an hour) will pre-charge it to a safe level for use.

You can also try plugging it in without the battery. This is not a guaranteed feature, but it seems to work on 90% of the Pandoras out there. That would help rule out electrical failure. If you do this and it works, do NOT put the battery back while it is still plugged in. Unplug the charger and then put the battery in, otherwise you risk overvolting the system and doing serious damage.

ok its been plugged in now for over 30 minutes with no change. I did try and power up the console without the battery but still had no lights or any signs of life.

Now I start to belive there is a problem with the new units :(

There were some other reports about the same probelm before...

I think there are new batteries too and they are slimmer than the old ones.Could this be a problem? Is the gold part on the battery correctly aligning with the gold connector in the pandora? Also leave the battery plugged in for longer.I did this before with a pandora battery and it came to life after a while. Also maybe your charger is broken. If you have a psp charger try it it will work with the pandora. Also maybe Try charging via the mini usb port if you have a usb cable handy.

My pandora is from the first batch. i got it a few weeks after they started shipping them. Looks like ill have to try and get it RMA'd hopefully its just the battery. It has been playing up for me I tried flashing superzaxxon b3 i think it was a month a go and it just wouldnt run right...ended up putting hotfix 7 back on as it worked.

Ah ok.It could just be the battery. It's not from the new batches so.@{mcobit no need to worry.

If you have a DVM (digital voltmeter) then you can know for sure, measure battery

less than 3.6 V is dead, less than 3.7 is weak, meters vary in accuracy

(test meter with fresh alkaline, should be approx 1.56)

3.8 V is a battery with charge (~3.84 is 50%)

Edit: posting sw eats GT and LT signs, and most of the line too

managed to grab a meter from work. aaa battery = 1.5 so it looks like its accurate enough for this purpose. the pandora battery is saying 3.8v so it looks like somethings gone on the board :( hopefully craig doesnt charge too much to get it repaired or replaced as its a neat little device i used daily.

I can just send you a new PCB if you're happy replacing the old one?

Actually.. does it have an original LCD cable too?

I did email Jacquelyn so hopefully she will speak to you about my questions about cost etc.. I took it apart to see if it was anything obviously broken on it so yeah It wouldnt bother me putting it in myself.

I had the ribbon changed when I my screen started changing to the purple tint and you sorted out and fitted a new one for me.
