My Pandora Took a Tumble

The microphone is much better on the newer board revision than previous. It should be fine, and if for some reason it doesn't work, you can still use the microphone built into the headphone port.

Prying the pins in the port up appears to have been a temporary fix. One slight touch and it lost connection. What would be an estimated cost on the replacing of the port?

well, if you're up to some simple desoldering, this port should do

now, I realize that port isn't surface mount, but you should be able to bend the pins a little
Eh, I'm not risking it. Too many small resistors and stuff around the area of the port. I'd much rather spend alot of money sending it in and knowing it will get fixed, than spending some money and having the risk of breaking the rest of the board. Thanks anyways.

I'd recommend you work with ED on this RMA as this seems like something outside of my realm of repair. Board may have to go back to Global Components for a proper fix, but ED is a guru so who knows. I just know I'd most likely wind up sending this to ED, so why double ship it.

What's the email I should use to contact EvilDragon (if he's the one I should contact) about an RMA for my Pandora? Sorry if it's posted out in plain sight, I haven't been able to find one.

Sorry about rezzing my own topic.

I've tried contacting ED through the forum PM system, but I bet he's not going to reply to it until next month or something (it says that he read it, not sure if it's a glitch on my end). Is there anyone else I can try to contact about an RMA?

I could try going without a functional USB port, but it'd be really hard to use a flash drive for transfering data. Also, I'd like to send it in and get my board placed into one of the new cases. There's a deffinate fault forming on the bottom of the hinge, and doesn't look good.

It's just ED, Craig, and myself doing RMAs.

Knowing the fault you have, ED is your best point of contact. It sometimes takes him a few days to reply, maybe even a week or two. I apologize that I'm not able to help more. Just be patient and ED will help set everything straight.

Repeated:

I wonder, does the OTG port work?

Test as mass storage, if it works then maybe a miniA master cable would work?

A miniA to A female. They can be found, not even expensive

But if you want a new case......

Sorry I have given bad advice here,

after a modprobe g_multi the kernel notices the stick,

dmesg complains of insufficient bus power,

and no nodes are set up, /dev/sda does not exist

Maybe more needs to be modprobed?

Why is this not in udev?

g_multi will enable a mouse to work, I don't know about keyboard
