How's it going? (2012-03-05)

I'm not good linux user either, that's why I think Pandora is excellent device! I can try all kinds of things, linux mostly and play my favorite games
Also program development is becoming my soul task.. All I need is Pandora, so I can try them out!
Sounds like my plan, the only different is that i have never done any programing so that will be a challenge :) Sry for my bad english :p

Programming skills are obviously not needed (Prometheus, for one, can not use the wizardy of programming, afaik.) :p

Woo! I almost had an heart attack when I saw mail from OP Sadly it wasn't email telling me my Pandora is on the way.
I got the same feeling The only thing is that im really nervous beacuse im such a noob when it comes to linux and stuff like that.

Don't worry it is not hard at all, some common (nerd) sense, googling, and forum scourging. You should be fully up and running in an evening.
Its good to hear  My plan is to get a pandora and force me with joy to learn linux etc. :D

I'm a beginning video game programmer, and I found the pandora on accident (I forget how actually). So, I decided to order one to make homebrew games on it for more experience.

Well, we certainly won't say no to that

And now for something completely different: ED, do you maybe have some more info about when the TV-Out cables are going to be arriving?

Jeremy

Pandora was what finally pushed me to learning C++, and apart from setting up compilers (which still remains something of a headache for me), I quite like it. It wasn't as big a jump from Blitz as I feared. The new technical ways provided to shoot oneself in the foot are outweighed by the performance benefits. Hell, I even managed to get my bitmap font and drawing functions up and running on the Dingoo. Pandora has been a real catalyst for me, and I don't even have one yet!

If one will indulge me a brief dip into the the cesspool of internet terminology, this little hand-held is going to fucking rule.

What news do you expect?

Shipping the next bunch of units today, the next final payment mails within the next days, etc.

Nothing spectacular ;)

What's your average daily shipping in number of units? Just so that people can start crunching numbers, uploading wild speculations on delivery dates and moan more in general.

So the news is all good for ED's customers, excellent.

How many units have been sent over to the UK to satisfy Craig's customers ?

Are they being shipped to old pre-orders like myself (ordered 2nd October 2008 @ 09:30) and if so what is the split between legacy and new orders ?

I'm not shipping daily, so far I shipped about 150 units, got 230 lying around here and the next ones should be finished within the next days from GC as well.

Will do the first shipment today, will be around 30 - 40.

Current rate it about 3:1, though it's improving for old customers thanks to some upgrades.

Ed, How many old pre-orderers are still waiting for a pandora?

Check the status page.

Thanks for the quick response.

That's good news.

So if you ship 40 units to the UK, Craig can ship 30 legacy orders and 10 new orders ?

Given the date of my original order I can't be waiting too much longer. Can I ??

(I guess the answer to that is twofold. (1) Are there enough 'new orders' to help with the shipping of 'legacy orders' and (2) what is the volume and frequency of Pandoras being shipped to the UK.)

I guess the other way around: 10 legacy ordes and 30 new ;)

trinz Thankzzz

If I read correctly 1300 people are still waiting, and if the company would make 1000 a month, 2 or 3 months later we could all have a pandora?

Ed: those 1000 still in Texas, they will be repaired there? and schipped to you?

Or are they all being repaired by you?

(I missed that bit of info here)
