NeoGeo X - A new NeoGeo Portable ( Dec 6 Release )

this is going to be just like the gamegadget inside so dont expect great compatibility or mean hardware specs, infact it will probably contain an emulator which they will have found on the interweb to run the games.

That's exactly what I thought when I read it too.

What interests me is the control, solo.

Still, it might be better for me to get an x-arcade (http://www.xgaming.com/)

I´d wish for 2 single ones, but I don´t think they are making those anymore :( .

Problem is that I will have to pay 2x the price for shipping and probably 60% over that when I get to it (customs)...sucks bad.

I thought this time Blaze was just the distributor, and not involved in the R&D / production?

hopefully cos they havent exactly blazed a streak across the gaming world.

I think they are going to price this out of the market, making it only play neo-geo games is targeting a very specific market, not many people had one of these things and those of us that might have been interested won't be willing to pay over £100 for it.

Still looks like an obscure chinese PMP that has been given the NeoGeo name as a sort-of misguided marketing push.

Can imagine it being hacked to be much more flexible, but it'll likely carry a premium that wont make it any better than any other off-the-shelf PMP you could stick a NeoGeo emulator on.

Time will tell, it seems!

I was very tempted by this but after reading about the gamegadget and how they ripped people off I'm not sure I want to give them any of my money.

Which is bloody annoying as the joy-pad on this thing looks exactly like the one on a Neo-Geo pocket which is one of the best d-pads ever.

Hmmm a portable aes that may have homebrew ... So very tempting .

I'm still tempted for this too.

Though the Nexus 7 is meant to be coming in the 32GB model for the same price of £199 too at around the same time, pre Christmas.

If this is released sooner, on the 6th, it will probably take my money.

I've decided to just link my arcade stick to my Nexus 7 instead of getting this, I was really interested until I saw the price, I just think they're asking way too much for what it actually is

Or hey you know those of us with Pandoras ( ok this is the Open Pandora boards , so there should be a few of us that have em laying around on pedestals ... ) could sync ( probably using Bluetooth ) a wireless arcade joystick to the previously mentioned Pandora(s) .

And plug in a tv out , if ya have 1 handy .

Geez, a few beers and red wines last night, got home, logged on ot Amazon, and pre-ordered one of these, with an extra arcade stick. Always had a soft spot for the old neogeo - I of course couldn't afford it at the time, but who the heck could?

Let that be a lesson to you young kiddies - don't drink and shop.

I do all of my ridiculous purchases when fully sober, I think I should stay drunk

Why not just buy a consolized mvs or , emulate the neo geo on your pandy and not download the roms ?
