Release PCSX ReARMed, with a new GPU

Gran turismo 2 works perfect on caanoo but pandora doesn't play the game anymore,i've tried uk,us versions both won't work,so there must be some problem with the emulator, please notaz can you sort this out.

I had a moment to play with it again, the NTSC/US (Bin+Cue) version works for me with the gpuPEOPS.so plugin, just tried a full race in the Arcade disc (CD2) at 650mhz. Stutters a little at race start, but nothing too bad.

Hello guys, i'm new here, first of all sorry about my bad english, i hope you can understand me
smile.gif

Let me introduce myself quckly. I'm mainly a gamer, i'm playing with fighting games (Tekken series, SF4, MK9, UMvC3) at tournament level, and i'm making combo videos out of these games. i'm playing with consoles since my childhood. I had only Nokia phones, because Symbian could handle a few emulators, like VNes and Picodrive.

I switched my shitty N97 (that phone was big disappointment) for a N900 about a year ago, and it's a whole new level... Damn this is a pocket PC, definitely my favourite phone of all time! Symbian is only a joke compared to Maemo. So emulators are necessary for me, i'm a huge fan of retro games and consoles. This phone was the perfect choice for me! I'm a Ps3 owner too, so i can use my joypad with the phone. Playing retro games with a Sixaxis on my Nokia? A dream comed true.

So i really like to thank EVERYBODY who cares about this phone, porting and working on emulators, etc. PCSX REarmed is excellent, a lot of games runs almost perfectly! Thanks one more time guys, keep up the outstandig work, and i wish a happy new year for everybody!

I'd also like to thank you guys for the amazing work you've done on this emulator. A lot of games are running full speed on the n900 now.

Nice work.

I'm new here. My name is Jesse and I happened upon this site because of my Nokia N900. The core GPU code is being used as a plugin for our own PSX4M for the Nokia N900, a little phone that is more a mini-computer than a phone. Anyway, wanted to drop by and say thanks for the wonderful work on the GPU code and thanks to the creators of the Pandora. I hope to get one in the not-so-near-future when I have some money to spend. Wanted one since I heard about it.

Again, thanks for the wonderful work and anyone involved for their hard work!

meanwhile, all N900 users and fans that are enjoying PcSXrearmed could drop some donations to Notaz (mainly) and Exophase (for the latest and greatest gpu addition).

I totally agree, even if its a small donation, its the right way to thank them for so much hard work, and I am sure they apreciate it us much as we enjoy de emulator. :)

I know bonapart did full port, why do you use PSX4M (which is psx4all codebase from what I understand) anyway?

Wish I knew. You'd have to ask him. Oh and when I say "for our", I'm speaking in a general sense of the community of N900 users, not me personally.

As for bonapart, I suppose it's due to the speed increase since the phone is less powerful. Dunno really. Enchanced graphics/plugins would probably hinder performance, then again, I only know about PCSX on the PC and not the armel-based port. I really should check it out. Thanks for asking this to get me interested! lol

Oh how I wish I could. Barely even able to make rent...and finding a job is not easy out where I live. Hopefully mu move to Ohio will change that and I would definitely donate for this! :)

Welcome to pandora community.

As you know pandora is console/minipc with keyboard and gaming controls with tv out and can use usb peripherals.

pcsx rearmed is very fast emulator on pandora and has strong compatibility plus can use pc controllers like console experience,so how liking the psx emulator.

After a quick search last night I tried setting LANG to en_GB and en_GB.UTF-8. Waited until after midnight and tested with date +%x then fired up pcsx via pnd_run.

No joy - but I was saving to a game with savestates of the old format if that makes a difference.
It probably didn't see your change, it has to be system wide since $HOME is not read now for .pnds, perhaps /etc/environment would work after reboot.
/etc/environment did not work for me. I added an export LANG=... to /etc/profile.d/op_env.sh

This sticks after a reboot and a terminal, bash shell, picks up the variable.

Still there is no change with the date formats for the savestates.

Unless pnds work in an odd way, if I run pnd_run from a shell I know $LANG has been exported then pcsx should inherit that. Both en_GB and en_GB.UTF-8 have the desired effect on the date command so I'm at a loss why this is not working.

I did wonder about hacking the start script in the pnd but failed. The wiki said to leave it to experts which is a little unhelpful. :(

can i have a feature request? :)

a simple text file [*.txt] browser/viewer inside pcsx. Why? Because i play a lot in adventure games and when i stuck i must to exit pcsx and load up a gamefaq, check what went wrong.. and then re-start pcsx. This is time consuming and it could be easier if pcsx will have a small [nothing fancy] txt file viewer. It might help not only with adventure games but in beat em up games like MK / Tekken [view secret moves.. ]

notaz: if you do that, you should present the user with a list of (filename of disk image minus extension).*.txt files to pick from!

How are you testing this with date, can you paste it's output that you consider good?

If I were to implement this I would better do alt-tab functionality of some kind instead.

Wow! what a great gift from you :D Thank you very much Notaz and Exophase for your hard work on this project.

I've used my Pandora only for chating (MSN, IRC) when watching TV but now i have some work to do on PSX game ;)

Code:
# echo $LANG

en_GB.UTF-8

# date +%x # locale format date
