Release Zaxxon Hotfix 7 Alpha 2 - Merry Christmas :)

Now im installed the Hotfix 7 too, but its seems like my Wifi Ship has geting his ghost off , anyway: The miniwifistick is a bit faster than the internal wifi chip, so this should be a big deal, i need tho reinstall the codec pack and midi, but this is like every hotfix full flash, now im going to thest the speed and all things on the device..

wowo minimenu certainly loads apps much faster nice one!

shame the battery patch was not reverted on this hotifix!

I have been trying to download http://openpandora.o...-rootfs.tar.bz2 . But I only can download 19,6 MB of it. The filesize says 178M. Is this big filesize wrong or can I only get 19,6 MB of it and is the file corrupt ?

Installing to SD with sd installer gives no errors but I cannot boot from it. That was the reason I suspect something is wrong...

Nice Xmas presents Though. Thank you all !

Edit : Tested the archive .... Unexpected end of file ... So I cannot complete a full download of the file....

Please add newest QT libs to the Alpha 3 image. Then i'll could port more QT apps for pandora. At the moment there are 5 apps that specifically needs newest libs to compile/work properly.

We already tried, but that isn't easily possible with our old OS version.

We need to head on to .next for that.

wow thanks for the fixes :) im hoping we can move to the latest kernal after this to get our most missed dsp core working :D

I think I said this dozen of times, but I guess I'll have to repeat this again - DSP use has nothing to do with the old kernel, the DSP modules were compiled and nothing came out of it.

Ummm... I've been playing SNES, PSX, PicoDrive from MiniMenu... why should emulators not start from there?

I tried to run pcsx rearmed emulator but it keeps on going back to desktop menu and no emulators were running from minimenu plus i couldn't change cpu speed and mupen64plus config was setted default on 1030 and couldn't change it.

I have just formatted my sd card with panasonic sd formatter and installed hotfix7 alpha 2,i will install fw again and let's see how it's goes on.

I am still not able to download the sd installer file...

The file pandora-rootfs.tar.bz2 stops at 19,2 Mb....

Anyone having this problem ?

Don't forget to grab the latest kernel as well in this case.
Why is a manual copy of the kernel needed ?

Only if you wanna run this off the SD card.
But we never had to do this before. Why is this needed now ? Why isn't it included in the rootfs archive ?

It isn't, unless you want to run off the SD card, which is useful for preserving the NAND or for experimentation. We've been able to do this since the first Pandora shipped. I dunno about not including it in the rootfs, though.

This has come up before, the way it's worded in ED's HF update posts does give the impression that the Kernel is 'needed ' for some unspecified reason that isn't quite clear - but it isn't (except for very specific manual operations for the technically inclined, not standard Nand flashing / SD installer utility uses) I can point you to the answer DAVE1234 gave me when it had me scratching my head too:

http://boards.openpa...dpost__p__93503

the kernel used by the SD installer is extracted from .tar.gz file. You should not need a separate kernel file.

Ah, okay :)

I never used the SD Installer, so I didn't really know about that.

I'll fix the main post :)

Im confused: Ed says that this fixes the charging issue, yet other people are saying it wasnt included. Is the charging issue fixed in this FW or isnt it?

@Lobo: I was confused about that well, when suddenly a quick theory struck my mind:

Possibly peelie referred to HF6 when speaking of "shame the battery patch was not reverted on this hotifix!". So "this" was targeted toward the HF he is currently still using and not HF7. At least I'm quite sure that it ED's statement is the right one.

I formatted my sd card with sd formatter and put the fw into root of the sd card and installed it to pandora and results are the same i can change the clcock speeds now but it won't start any emulator from mini menu.

Mini menu is very fast, thanks for the new fw.

Having a little trouble with this release (not any other mind you).

When I'm fully booted up in the XFCE4 GUI and I remove the sd card with my apps on there and then replace the card, some catagories on my pandora menu do not show back up i.e. emulators ,games, docs etc.. the only way to rectify is to switch GUI's or reboot..Bud

Edit - this is from a full flash

Edit 2 - but I have had the full menu show up a few times , just not everytime
