Pandora community poll - pandora users

You are:

  • Simple Gamer / Common Pandora User

    Votes: 29 52.7%
  • Advanced Hardcore Gamer

    Votes: 13 23.6%
  • Novice / Simple Porter

    Votes: 4 7.3%
  • Novice / Simple Developer

    Votes: 5 9.1%
  • Advanced Developer

    Votes: 4 7.3%

  • Total voters
    55

Why is the example (I suppose) for Advanced Developer, Games developer?

That kinda diminishes the work of an Apps developer, who is just titled "Simple developer".

In general, those simple/advanced titles don't seem a good fit to me.

From my point of view i just added a little hint after the brackets. If You're think you're advanced developer, just click advanced. Dont mind info in brackets [its only for additional information, if you dont know what category fits best for You]

Simple Linux user, for whom Pandora is a great compact instant-on device with durable battery and comfortable working/entertainment environment, mostly interested in using Pandora as a small Linux box with standard package manager and repository, almost standard filesystem layout and almost current packages versions. Casual gamer.

Shucks... No Sexy Programmer option
Feels like I'm codin' nothin' at all!

The poll options are a rather poor coverage of the Pandora users in my opinion.

@Advanced Hardcore Gamer / [ie. im interested in extra polished 3D games]

I consider dwarf fortress players to be way more hardcore gamers than those of many 3D games released these days, but I understand the intended distinction.

I would classify my Pandora usage as "Hardcore gamer / "netbook" user / application programmer".

Why, I like these yesterday's polls, apart from this one. I think in fact it should be two different polls, one for use cases (playing these or that games, using Pandora as a PDA or as a media player etc.) and another for qualification/being involved in development, like 'simple user'/'have installed ubuntu once'/'linux geek'/'developer' etc.

I'm neither.

Oh, well. Poll was created for me, to check community. How much is involved in programming , how much are simple gamers or common pandora users [common tasks on panda] thats why this poll looks like. It could be useless for many of You.

Still, use cases and expectations and administration/programming skills go to different categories, it might be more helpful for you that way.

Poll results can only reflect the community if the questions and answers are meaningful to the community to begin with... This poll doesn't really reflect much at all... like trying to get a clear reflection off the dull side of a piece of aluminium foil...

To be fair, the question is rather obvious and aim at knowing what kind of population does have a pandora. Simple realy
