Is it possible for a Pandora to be used as a controller for a PC?

I kind of doubt that it's possible, but could a Pandora be used as a controller for a PC? If it is possible, how?

maybe pairing it as bluetooth device , but i think it will require additional coding to send fake info to BT..

The keyboard can be used as a keyboard, the nubs can be used as a mouse: the program you're looking for is synergy. Not sure if it has a PND but it is definitely compiled for angstrom and can be installed with opkg.

If, however, you mean can the nubs be put into joystick mode and then somehow your PC sees them as joysticks, this is theoretically possible but no one has done it, nor do I expect it to be done anytime soon, sorry.

it would be a cool feature and i would like it because i need a gamepad to do co-op portal 2 on pc. other than that it would take a long time program and get working that it would be better if the Pandora OS got that programming time.

I wonder which would be easier: writing usb drivers so that the PC could see it directly as a controller/keyboard/mic/mouse/whatever or writing a TCP based server/client for controls.

Synergy seems an interesting project, but can the Pandora be used even as a BT HID mouse/keyboard device ?

Wow that would be cool to be able to use a Pandora like that. Maybe have the little screen show stats and inventory...hmmmmmm.

Such a project would require two components

1) Pandora acting as HID (PC keyboard, mouse, gamepad) - should be possible.

2) Pandora acting as additional PC display. I think we would need a kind of virtual graphic card driver for Windows, which redirects the gfx data of the virtual adapter via LAN or WLAN to the display of the Pandora?

well even number one will be tough without someone skilled and has enough interest in doing such a project.

The closest I know that does what you want is BlueMaemo http://www.valeriova...rg/?page_id=174

It's for Nokia tablets, but those run Linux anyway.

It shouldn't be too hard for someone to port it for use with a laptop.

Edit: i looked at the SVN, and it's Python, not my territory...

Also, p.s. A quick recompile will not be enough anyway. pandora drivers or kernel modules or something like that will need to be built (not a linux expert as you can tell). But i think it's basically all just I2C or SPI communication so yeah, theoretically possible.
