The touch screen worked for a few minutes and that was it. Nothing now, is there some manual switch or software driven touch screen enable or is this unit broken? If broken what are my options?

Can you move the mouse with your nubs or is the pointer stuck at some place (middle upper area maybe?)

If that's the case, check if the middle clip of the top is properly clipped in.

Also check for dust/dirt/food/plastic/anything stuck to the screen, under any screen protector, around the screen edges etc.

cannot calibrate because it does not recognize anything touch related anywhere on the screen (how do you exit the calibration without completing it btw?)

I rebooted, repowered, reflashed, all of that no change.

yes the nubs work for moving the mouse around and selecting things.

Left it at the office so will try this clip thing you are talking about in the morning.

I wasnt doing anything at the time, I tried it right out of the box, tried to get wifi up, then decided I should plug it in and let it charge for a while. Came back found that the round things in the middle could be used for the mouse too played with those for a bit and at some point wanted to go back to stylus, but no joy, tried the keyboard test, no problems, played around some more with it some more, read up on how to update, etc (some web/instruction pages on the site are stale btw names of links and procedures have changed). Tried the calibrate, since nothing touch worked at all, no joy. Pulled the battery, inserted an sd card with the current flash/rev and re-flashed it. No joy on the touchscreen, and came to the forum for help.

Not understanding what the middle clip of the top is? Is this near where it meets the base, or somewhere around the edge of the display itself? Nothing seems to be popped open or out of place.

If you can move it with the nub, then this isn't the problem.

Maybe the displaycable moved out of the connector a bit... or something else is broken :(
