Does such a thing exist? most emulators seem to come with either very litte or no documentation whatsoever, i surely can't be the only one that is finding setting them up such a headache.. and i would rather not keep bothering people here with similar queries.

And on that note where are you supposed to put ScummVM games and in what file structure zipped/unzipped (in folder) tried different permutations of the above in SD root of card & ScummVM appdata, but no game files are being found?

Thanks.

For the most part it's just dropping your ROMs in an emulator's appdata folder.

Hi

For ScummVM I have the games in - Pandora / appdata / scummvm / scummvm games

So my ScummVM games are in the scummvm games folder within their own folders.

You still need to search your directories for it though when adding into ScummVM.

All games for ScummVM must be unzipped.

Try the ScummVM website also - http://scummvm.sourceforge.net/

Games for ScummVM are not always straight forward to use either, some need different sound files added, some need

video files added. It is not always a case of just dropping the game files over, but the website above is a good source of

knowledge, it has a forum and some games to download and some of those game add on files also, and emulator updates.

Oh and for reference sake the games for ScummVM are not ROMs.

Hope this helps.

If you're using Minimenu, highlight the application you want information about, and press the "Y" game-button - usually there is documentation, and this will bring it up. In Xfce, this documentation will appear in the "Documentation" menu in the Pandora-menu, instead. :p

^ Although sometimes the documentation is little more than the license, and does not help with the setup much.

I've actually been thinking about creating/updating wiki pages detailing the setup for each emulator, simply because of the number of people having to ask for help. Does anybody have any thoughts on this?

Do it. Set up the pages and templates, I'll help with the writing.

I did eventually figure it out, but many thanks anyway.

Have a Pandora since this weekend. Here my little pandora.txt with information about emulator keys and file locations. Might be useful for starters.

I guess it's supposed to be start and select together but it doesn't work for me...oh well. Anyone know what's a good speed to overclock in order to play Zelda OOT decently in Mopen64?

Last edited by a moderator:
What do you mean by "decently"?...because even over-clocked to 1Ghz it's still a little bit slow and the sound also still stutters.

At the moment, it's not possible to get it full-speed, that's for sure.

Have a Pandora since this weekend. Here my little pandora.txt with information about emulator keys and file locations. Might be useful for starters.

Fantastic! Cheers for that, I got my Pandora this morning and, as a total newcomer to emulation, have had a very frustrating (but enjoyable!) day trying to get stuff to work - you should have seen my face light up when Final Fantasy VII worked for the first time!

Do you, or anyone else, have the same info for the Spectrum and C64 emulators? I've got a ton of games ready to go, but haven't a clue as to the correct folders, etc...

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread, but I didn't see any need in creating a new one for this question...

I've been having an urge to play through a bunch of my old Sega Game Gear games. I can get them to run in Dega, but I can't seem to get anything to save or load. In the instructions, it says the save and load functions are done with the L & R buttons combined with a number key for the save slot. However, whenever I hit the L button, the emulator exits. Any ideas on the right control scheme?

For most things, I like Picodrive better, and although it will open Game Gear roms, it doesn't seem to render them correctly -- text disappears, the colors are very strange, etc. If anyone has any suggestions on getting them to run in Picodrive correctly (I'm not really sure they're supposed to run in it at all) -- or to get the most out of Dega -- I'd love to hear it!

^ As far as I know, the L/R thing is correct, for Dega. R + 1, for example, will save to slot 1, and L + 1 will load from it.

Where did you get the PND from? And, have you tried redownloading it?

Thanks, Prometheus...

It's the version from the repo. On your suggestion, I just re-downloaded it. It's called dega-1.16c.pnd. I just replaced it, deleted the appdata folder for Dega, and re-launched. Same thing. The emulator exits as soon as I hit the L button. It doesn't exit on the R button, though. I also just popped up the Pandora Input Tester, just to make sure my keys hadn't gotten remapped somehow, but everything looks normal.

Just to be clear, we're talking about L & R meaning the shoulder buttons, not left and right on the D-pad or the actual L & R keys on the keyboard, right?

One final thought -- I'm still running Hotfix 7 Alpha 3. I'm downloading Super Zaxxon Beta 2 and reflashing to see if that helps.

UPDATE: Just flashed Super Zaxxon Beta 2. Same behavior from Dega, so that's not it. I guess I'll see if I can find a different PND for it.
