Rainy Day - Game Project

I am going to agree with Sony here. The new Penjin powered logo looks great, but I also miss the katakana.

The simplicity of the other logo doesn't bother me at all. It's a logo, they tend to be simple.

I meant the Astolat logo looks inferior compared to the Penjin logo. Penjin logo is bigger, shinier and in colour! Maybe an animation and a longer screen time will help the Astolat Logo stand out more :)

Yes, I understood that. To me it is not bothersome at all.

To be honest, I always hit buttons like a madman during those screens in the hope that they go away.

I can already tell you that you won't be able to skip the splash screens :p

And the katakana will be added :)

Hey guys,

The japanese symbols (whatever they mean -I don't know any Japanese) will be added to the Penjin splash screen if and when I get some reference from which I can copy them (pixel art version is to low res to clearly make out the shapes)

The Astolat Creations logo might get a similar treatment as the Penjin logo for this particular game. As the visual style of the game is rather painterly, the logos will be rendered in a similar way.

And thank you very much for the many positive comments, guys, that's one of the things that keep me motivated! :)

It just says Penjin. Wikipedia has a table and clicking the individual characters gives a page with a larger picture.

It are only three different letters (with n occuring twice). Here are some links to larger versions:

Go go gadget symbols! http://projectinfinity.org.uk/doku.php?id=homebrew:engines:penjin

yup they are right there on the official Penjin wiki page. And the spell out the sound that makes Penjin.

I actually put effort with char map and found the chars I need myself, and confirmed with a couple of Asian friends I know.

I know I got Ninja'd, but to add to what Poke has already said...The Japanese characters are called Katakana. They're mostly used to spell foreign words or to write official documents.

Here's an example...

Thanks guys! This will come in handy to get those symbols correctly on the splash screen :)

Now that I see it, I have to say that the new Astolat Creations screen looks much better than the former one. Well done.

I'll provide a version of this Penjin logo as a png with transparent background as well. I'll send that one via Dragonslayer in a day or two. :)
