I see all of the happy people receiving their premium pandoras but no happy non-premium people receiving a pandora. Perhaps they don't care to brag? Also where are you in the queue i.e. what order month are you now shipping?

Well they haven't shipped any for a few days now because Craig is waiting for the LCD cables.

October 2008.

Only a small fraction of Pandora owners even bother to post anyway. You can't tell anything by looking at the forums alone.

Don't worry the standard pre-orders are still shipping (the team are now employing much more stringent Q/C prior to shipping which inevitably slows things down a little, but also reduces RMA's etc)

As David Bowman has said, a tiny percentage of people actually post receipt of their unit's (relative to the amounts shipped) so this isn't really a useful yardstick.

Bear in mind that there are also quite a few that have ordered multiple units 2,3 or even more which can make it appear as though the queue is being worked through a lot slower than it actually is.

If it helps, my pre-order was 1st October 2008 20:33 (queue position estimate 1150-1250) and i was told a couple of days ago that my unit will be shipping this coming week, and for the record i will post receipt of my unit & a review.

I hope more people receiving a shipping notice will post the info. I am April 29,2009 and would like to see the gap narrowing.

I can assure you they still ship out along with the premium/upgraded orders.

I don't suppose you can tell us how many premiums have been sold, could you please? It helps to work out how many units are left, after the RMAs, one-nubbers, and the premiums etc. Thanks.

Well there are at least 2000 unsold units from batch2.

And as Ed has explained, we don't have any way to access accurate numbers for you without it taking us a serious amount of time that we don't have.

Thanks for the reply Craig. My estimations are probably futile, but it helps me in waiting. Unfortunately, knowing how many are unsold at the end of Batch 2 doesn't help me in trying to estimate this, as every premium which is sold is ahead of me, so to speak, in the queue. I don't want you to waste time looking through records, but if you do have some rough approximation, even from just your store, of how many have sold, that would be helpful. Thanks.

I think we have sold around 135 Premium units now (the Ashens review may push that higher).

As they are selling quite slowly we have decided to just leave them available forever as it helps us recover lost money.

Once we are in to batch2 and all of the $330 units are shipped we will start to promote the Pandora to a wider audience at the $499 price.

You will get your unit for the $330 price and it won't be TOO long now, we're eating at the queue from both ends now because of the upgrades.

Thanks for the information Craig, it's appreciated. I really am glad things are going smoother, and hopefully will continue to do so at a steady rate. I assumed that the premium price would be the new price from now on, which makes sense in my mind. Cheers.

Is that 135 only new Premium sales, or is that also including upgrades? If the former, how many upgrades on top of that 135 have gone out?

Sounds good, cannot wait to get mine. Also keep it up Craigix and others!

Cheers~

That would include upgrades. Actually I'm suprised it wasn't higher.

I think the reason that it is not higher is a combination of lack of promotion (they don't want the demand to get too high before they finish sending out the pre-orders) and the price/specification ratio. Five hundred dollars is a substantial enough amount of money, and when you just read the specs, they seem unimpressive next to other devices you can get for that much or cheaper if you don't really "get" what makes the Pandora unique. Many people don't really get it, as evidenced by some of the comments on the YouTube video review by Ashens.

P.S.

I got the impression that it would include the upgrades as well.

Actually, I'm even suprised that there weren't more than 135 premiums just from the preorderers upgrading.
