Razor switchblade portable 7'' pocket laptop

Well i was following this product for a while just out of interest and do believe months ago i read an artical by the ceo of razor saying that they had cancelled the switchblade because they were looking to move the company in a different direction.

Also dont want to offend to many people with this comment, but this was being marketed at world of war craft gamers when i was following the progress. Now correct me if i am wrong but dont wow gamers rarely leave their desktops let alone their homes. Why on earth would they need a portable devise, sounds kinda stupid to me
Where did you read that, the wiki page still says its coming as does razorzone? Not that I'd buy one

They must have realized this.

Looks okay to me, however knowing Razer I expect it will be sold wwwaayyy above its value.

However I do deem this interesting, with a properly trimmed Linux plus Touchscreen Interface or the new Windows 8 Metro.

World of Warcraft has ~11.1 million subscribers. When that many people play a game, it's a fact that the vast majority are not going to match the silly labels and childish stereotypes that gamers like to lump on them.

If you really think that there are millions upon millions upon millions of people who don't leave their homes for the sake of this game, you are both quite sorely mistaken. ;)

True, but the ones who fit the stereotype are the most notable, thus the butt of the joke. Kind of how one might make jokes about German engineering. Tell me with a straight face that there aren't people in Germany who have trouble putting in batteries correctly. Go ahead. Do it

But companies don't judge the viability of products on that sort of silliness. ;)

Wow! I can't believe this thing (the bigger model, not the 7" model) didn't end up being vaporware.

I refuse to take Razer seriously. Especially after I found out some of their products appear to be near 1:1 RIP offs of other peoples kit. Meaning:

1) they stole designs

Or

2) they licensed designs, and all their trumpeting about being designed for gamers is bullshit

I've got a gaming laptop. It's called a MacBook Air. It's 11" and chews through Skyrim like you wouldn't believe. We even hook it up to the TV, connect two wired Xbox controllers and play Dungeon Defenders.

All these trumped up "gaming" laptops are fodder for idiots with the kind of money that makes us lowly Mac fans look like street urchins. I hate these people on two levels and wish the laptops would explode and blow their faces off.

Agglelrlgglgrrrr did I mention that anything Razer spins me into a furious ranting rage? Yeah... I guess you gathered. Fiona... Bletch!

...with the kind of money that makes us lowly Mac fans look like street urchins....
if it looks like a duck...

macs (specifically the macbook air) are not the shining example of bang for buck in performance... They have historically been stupidly overpriced computers. They look nice, they may have more polish, but for the same money you can get a lot better performance. I think razor is going after the same type of people macs are... people with money wanting quality performance and polish. But instead of hipsters, they target gamers... You may see it differently

Intel HD Graphics 3000 (macbook air via apple.com)

glad you mentioned skyrim... because I would in fact believe a macbook air could run it at ~18fps at low settings, and the nvidia one would run it at ~45fps.... (source links above)

and that's actually very close to what I believed would happen before I even started looked looking into this...

I would have thought it would be less than 18fps.

Seriously if you going to be gaming, why buy a laptop, let alone a bloody macbook?

that intell integrated graphics card is a step above, don't get me wrong... much better than the 9xx days.. those were a joke... but still doesn't hold a candle to the nvidia line of dedicated gpus
