So I was finally able to upload Greyout :) thanks for the quick bug-fix.

I am wondering, as I uploaded it from a remote url, does that check for updates on that address every now and then, so I can just update the file and the repo will detect and display the changes after some time or do I have to update it manually?

If the latter, it probably has to be done through the "admin" button, which currently does not work for me as it leads to a "This page does not exist" page.

EDIT: Only 100 chars for a comment? That's a bit too few imo. Also a counter to show how many chars one already typed would be nice or some AJAX checking of the length as it sucks to have to re-write a comment because it exceeded the allowed length.

yes i havent implemtned the delete or maintain option yet, the delete option will do what it says delete the file altogether from the db and the server, the tool icon will allow u to transfer ownership of the file to someone else and or even just add additional maintainers so more than one user can update a particular file.

No, the repo will not magically see if your file was changed. You have to manually update it when you have a new version uploaded. It would be a *huge* waste of bandwidth to try and download the file again and again even if in some cases a new one will automatically have a new url.

Yeah, right, I did not think that one through, it would be rather stupid to download a 300MB Wesnoth PND just to check the PXML, for some reason I thought one could "remotely" check that... :S

I'm at work and havn't got to test it yet but just registered and saw a typo after I valadated my account :p

thank you for valadating your account Matenrou.
You should now be able to sign-in successfully

Should be validating.

whoever ported mame would need to upload it :)
MAME4ALL and 0.106 are up there now. Hope the new PXML works...

I'm liking this repo; nice and easy to upload. How does updating your apps work? I managed to replace an incorrect FUSE package just by uploading again, but how does it match new to old to determine it's a replacement? An explicit "update" button per app would be clearer IMHO.

Any plans on adding an RSS feed for new uploads?

Would it be possible for it to report file sizes when you're downloading? I know sizes are on the app page, but it bugs me when my browser is telling me x downloaded instead of x of y downloaded.
Maybe just a case of sending a Content-Length HTTP header? Doesn't appear to do so just now. It does however send text/plain as the MIME type, which makes my browser want to open it in an editor. Not sure what it should send though... application/x-pnd? ;-)

Thanks for Uploading SteveM, your signal was in the sky last night, and now you appear :)

appplication/x-pnd is what i used as mime in the pnd_utils, so i guess it would mean that the open option in the browser on the pandora would work on pnd if it was the case xD.

It is basically a case of trusting the one uploading that they know what they are doing. If they are downgrading the version, it is assumed to be intentional. It all depends on the package-id (and if in the earlier uploads you have no package block, on the application-id).

yes but thats not so important just yet, want to add lots more usefull stuff like the abilty to let the package owner share maintanace of an app with other users if he /she wishes and the ability for the owener to delete the app too.

ok just changed content-type to application/x-pnd :)

but i already send the Content-Length i the header anyway so the browser should already know the filesize.

strange.

ive checked the headers with http://web-sniffer.net/ aswell and it deff sends content-length

also for some reason it hasnt been able to extract your preview pics http://repo.openpandora.org/?page=detail&app=dega.cosam.1.16.0.2&dp=true

do you think there path in the pxml is right ? or the files are in the pnd file? dont have time to look till maybe tomorrow.

Btw here is a short mock up how a slightly improved theme could look to make it appear more like http://www.openpandora.org and be more friendly to the eyes on large screens (the huge amounts of white hurt the eyes otherwise ;) ):

repo_mockup3.jpg

What I basically did is take a screenshot of the repo and use gimp to alter it (this is the reason why the fonts that once were in the white area suck this much!). The background graphics is what is used at http://www.openpandora.org and the color used behind the "significant area" is from the same site, the buttom area with the "subscribe to ml" box. Comments?
