EXT connectors

got my package today. first I was sad that it wasn't in my mailbox "damn, just some normal letter." Then I realized that this latter was actually from Canada and that the connectors truely are small :)

Now off to the soldering!

yeah I got mine in Saturday. I will have to do some soldering today after work..

I just got my connectors today. Aren't they cute? :p

Speaking of cute, I loved the stamp, Stan.

Got mine also. Thanks again Stan for stepping up. Now to see what I can do with them.

That's exactly what old PCs are good for: a source of cheap (although dusty) ribbon cables. When I start running out of ribbon cables, I know someone in the family is due for an upgrade. ;) (or someone forgot to give me their old PC)

Lucky for me I had an old PC I've been meaning to chuck for 6 months. Cables recovered and the remainder skipped.

At first, those connectors looked large - I misread that as "GBA case". That pic is amazingly clear, but could profit from an inclusion of a penny (or British equivalent) or other method to provide context.

The British equivalent to a penny(cent) is ...er... a penny(pence).

Today is a good day. I received two international packages: some connectors from Stan, and some Sugru from the UK that I'll use to connect the cable!

Oh, and I got my shipping confirmation for my upgraded-to-premium Pandora. So I just need one more international package, and I'll be all set :D

:) looks like i'll be breaking out my smaller iron tips then, little tip on the heat gun might be more effective for me though, as i have bad eyesight and shaky hands (not exactly the best combination for an electronics student eh? XD)

With a 0.8 mm solder tip I managed to build a cable with audio-in audio-out and svideo out. The audio out might not really be necessary, because the regular speakers (and the front audio jack) are still working when you start the tv-out script.

The image is squashed to NTSC resolution and looks a bit dark. Looking forward to any updates to the tv-out script
