Well, I have a two cheap usb chargers, one that came in a DSi kit and the other that came with a mp4 player(cheap Chinese audio player) and neither work. My nook charger works great however.

This is the OFFICIAL charger that comes with the nook, not a cheap knock-off. Can't guarentee that any other charger will work at this point. This one costs around $15 if you don't already own a nook.

Not even my eeepc can charge it, so I guess it has to be a high quality PC or wall to USB adapter to charge with. I haven't used a full desktop PC or a Apple yet so I don't know if it is just my eeepc.

Also, does the Pandora only charge through USB when it is on? I can only get it to charge through USB when it is on, it can be in standby and also charge though. This is put a snag in my USB outlet charger for everything plan. If my Pandora runs out of juice then I'll have to have a PSP charger to charge it. I've been thinking about making a USB to whatever the size of the plug is adapter, one that will plug into the micro usb cord, only a few cm long, so I don't have to carry an entire other cable in my bag of chargers when I travel.

I think we must be separated at birth -- we have the same gear. I've been using a spare PSP charger to charge the Pandora at work, and it seems to work fine. I can't answer the question about only charging via USB when awake/standby, but it will only charge via the actual AC adapter when awake or on standby (i.e. NOT completely off). I guess this is well-known, and sort of by design -- if it's off and I plug in the AC adapter, it turns itself on. Odd, but I can live with it.

As for the Nook charger... I can't tell from your picture, but I have a Nook Color, rather than the original, and the charger is sort of odd. It's a regular mini-USB, but the tip is longer -- I've read that it's sort of dual-purpose, and that regular USB cables will work on the NC, but the one that comes with it will charge it faster. Haven't tested that -- all I know is that the proprietary cable has a nifty light-up "n" on it that turns green when it's fully charged. I'll try it this week with the Pandora to see what happens.

I also have an EeePC -- mine is the original 900 (although not the 700, which, I guess, is the TRUE original). I'm planning to do some traveling in Europe this summer, so I was hoping to just bring the Pandora and an iPod or iPad, but I'll probably bring the E, too, as I can't figure a way to sync anything Apple via the Pandora. (If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear it!)

The nook uses a different kind of USB cable, but any USB cable can be used with the nook charger. I just use the appropriate USB cable for my Pandora with the charger.
