What light? ... oh.
Check out my video capture videos.
Probably you should edit the title of this topic, and put all the links to your videos in the first post ...

More Videos (FF7 and Soul Blade should be up as a type this. Wipeout has just started uploading, so give that a few moe mins!):
Final Fantasy 7 - OC 280MHz, Default settings
Soul Blade - OC 280MHz, Default settings
Wipeout 2097 - OC 280MHz, Default settings

When the next beta comes out, if I do some more video captures, I'll resize the videos back down to 320x240, since the GP2X is doubling the pixels to make the TV Out picture.

Are these speeds without sound?

Yes.

EDIT: Well it seems like I may have to take those videos offline shortly... the B/W is climbing up and up and up. I think I'll put them up on google video next time.

It looks like youtube and Google Video don't seem to accept .ogm video format ( shame on them! ), I managed to grab the Chrono Cross video, will see if I can convert to a format that is compatible with the aforementioned video viewers.

It's just a case of resaving it as an AVI using "direct stream copy" in Virtual Dub. The only reason I saved it as OGM is because as an AVI it was always adding in a silent PCM audio track that was adding about 3-4MB onto each video. Good luck. If you manage to convert it, would you mind doing the same for the other vids and let me know here when you have?

;)

Haha... I know! I did that! But whatever I tried, it kept inserting a blank PCM stream. I perhaps have an old version of VDub or something.

EDIT: Just to inform everyone that I have removed links to the beta videos I posted, an also removed them from my webspace. This is because too much bandwidth was being used. I think I've decided I'll either use GoogleVideo, or YouTube in future for this sort of thing.
Anyone that has the videos are welcome to distribute them however you fancy.

Ok as it turns out all I had to do is rename the .ogm file to .avi to get it working with youtube. Here's the link anyway for the Chronos Cross gameplay video ( no audio ):

That's the only video I manage to grab from the batch you put up PokeParadox.

Thanks for "saving" the Chrono Cross video, and sorry you didn't manage to get the other videos before I removed them... If people still want them I'll put them online somewhere, although it may be better to just wait for the next beta and make some new videos?

Yep, I think it's better to wait as well it'll be cool to see ( and hear ) what the end result will look like. Great job on capturing the videos by the way, the interlacing is fairly noticeable though I think I can have a go at fixing it with Cinelerra.

Just a slightly off-topic question.. If a game runs like for an example at about 15 fps ingame with no frameskip (like Legend of Mana), does that mean with frameskip 1 it will run twice at fast, i.e. 30 fps? If so, then this is incredible work indeed!!
Sorry if I'm wrong, I've never really mastered the theory around frameskip and autoframeskip ^^.

Cheers!

edit: ok, LoM runs at about 10-12 fps, but it's still incredible :)

frameskip means that instead of displaying frames 1, 2, 3, 4; it will display 1,3,5,7. this way you get better speed by sacrificing smoothness. but the actual frames are still drawn at 15 per second.

Yeah, that much I knew. But playing with frameskip 1 in emulators isn't that much of a difference for most people. Only real hardcore gamers yab about frameskip 1 not being smooth enough ^^. I read in one of these gp2psx threads about the PS1 (the real machine) playing all games at fps 30, is that true? I don't think I saw someone neither confirming nor dementing it? In that case, it feels like the dream might come true one day :)
