I have installed the .gpe file to the root of my SD Card.

I have copied the empty ROMS directory to the SD Card (immediately off root).

I have copied 3 .gbc roms in to the ROMS directory.

I have run the .gpe from the GAMES menu, and the Emu loads.

I press start and and get the choice of 3 roms.

I press B to select a ROM

I am returned to the GP2X home menu.

I am on 1.2.1 Firmware, SDL is installed and no other files are on the root of the card (there are some other data directories though). I had tried a previous version of Gnuboy but this has been totally removed.

I have previously installed the patch for 1.1.0 firmware but removed it.

There is plenty of battery life and I have checked the ROMS on a PC Gameboy emulator.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how it should be installed or configured to make it work - PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The three roms are:

Warioland 2
Dragon Quest Monsters
Tetris DX

If these are supported, can anyone suggest some that are so I can see if I can get this to work - Thank you.

I have mine set up like: /Emu/gnuboy/roms/

Yes, roms is lowercase.

Big Bazaa99, if your "ROMS" directory is indeed uppercase, you may try making it lowercase. Linux is case sensetive for a lot of things.

All zelda games (Inlcluding a hacked rom, "The Legend of Zelda: Link Gets Laid" [really funny, a must have]) and pokemon, all work fine.

did you change the name of the emulator? if you did, you may find that the emulator is looking for the address that the emulator would be called if you had set the folder up, I.E.

Mine is set as G:\Gnuboy2x_05b\roms

goboy is an emulator for the nokia range of mobiles and you will find that changing the rom folder to the above will work.

........Have checked that the "roms" directory is lowercase and it is (sorry for perhaps misleading).

I have deleted the directory and recreated it and tried again - still got the same problem, returns to main menu after selecting a rom to play.

Any more ideas as this is really bugging me.

Got it - I had installed firmware patch 1.1.0 which locks the NAND memory. I had uninstalled this but clearly it hasn't worked. I ran the NAND unlocker and the EMU work fine.

Now to try to get rid of the NAND LOCKER - look out for another post if I have trouble.

Thanks

Have now applied firmware patch for 1.2.1 and set NAND to read/write - all works fine now.
